Sorafenat, a kinase inhibitor, is the tosylate salt of Sorafenib.

INDICATIONS

1. Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Sorafenat is indicated for the treatment of patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

2. Renal Cell Carcinoma

Sorafenat is indicated for the treatment of patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC).

3. Differentiated Thyroid Cancer (DTC)

Sorafenat is indicated for the treatment of patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC)

How Sorafenib Works

Sorafenib works by blocking (inhibiting) signals within the cancer cells that make them grow. Blocking the signals causes the cells to die.

Sorafenib can also stop cancer cells developing new blood vessels. This reduces their supply of oxygen and nutrients, so the tumour shrinks or stops growing.

Tests during treatment

You have blood tests before starting treatment and during your treatment. They check your levels of blood cells and other substances in the blood. They also check how well your liver and kidneys are working.
